I have always been extremely passionate about beauty and design. As a child I naturally gravitated towards fashion and art, but also had an affinity towards putting things together to create something new. During University, I began a career in the construction industry, eventually owning my own construction company. Through this experience I acquired a fundamental and unique understanding of how a home comes together along with a solid knowledge of structure and general construction. My passion for design has always influenced my work and the foundational knowledge I gained in construction became a pivotal step in my career as a designer. Moving from construction into design was a natural progression, and I opened my first design studio in 2008.
During our initial full-scale design projects, I became dissatisfied with what the local market had to offer for high quality, well-designed product options. Looking to offer my clients with something more, I began traveling to international design fairs and visiting factories throughout South and North America, Europe, and Asia to find the best in product and design. 15+ years later, I have been exposed to the work of the greatest creative minds and established lasting relationships with some of the world’s most unique and sought-after artisans, manufacturers, furniture, and architectural brands. Consequently, I am fortunate to have developed a breadth of understanding and knowledge that is uncommon in the design industry.
Today, with projects across North America, I draw upon my experience in construction, design, world travels, and my network to create high-end tailored spaces. At Shaun Ford & Co., I have surrounded myself with professionals that are at the top of their field to complement and support my vision that values beauty, quality, and detail to the highest standard.
